
Why can love feel so difficult at times? Connection is a fundamental human need—essential to our emotional and physical well-being. Research has long shown that without love and human connection, we struggle to thrive. Yet, we are not born knowing how to effectively love ourselves or one another. These unmet needs and learned patterns often show up in our closest relationships, leaving couples feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or stuck.
Couples therapy offers a space to rediscover how to love—both yourself and your partner—in healthier, more intentional ways. It is a process of understanding emotional needs, repairing disconnection, and rebuilding trust and safety within the relationship.
My work with couples is primarily informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a highly effective, evidence-based approach to couples counseling. Research shows that EFT helps approximately 70% of couples move from distress to recovery, with many reporting significantly improved relationship satisfaction and emotional closeness.
